This is reformer Pilates, refined.

What is Reformer Pilates

What is Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates uses a spring-based specialized machine called a reformer to train strength, mobility, and control, in equal measure.

The carriage slides; you stabilize.

The springs resist; you respond.

Every movement is deliberate, efficient, and designed to create real, functional strength.

This is Pilates for everyday living.

Reformer Pilates provides powerful full-body training. Using springs, cables, straps and a smooth gliding carriage, the reformer allows us to build strength, improve mobility, increase flexibility, and challenge stability - all while supporting awareness, alignment and proper form.

It’s Pilates with precision and possibilities.

The difference between Mat and Reformer Pilates

MAT & REFORMER PILATES - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

  • Incorporates a Pilates Reformer: The practice is done on a specialized bed-like machine with a sliding platform that moves back and forth.
  • Provides resistance: Adjustable springs, cables, straps and carriage on the reformer machine create resistance, making exercises more or less challenging depending on your fitness level.
  • Targeted focus on core strength: While all Pilates practices focus on the core, the reformer exercises are performed on a moving, sliding platform adding another layer to the practice. Depending on the Pilates exercise being practiced, learning to control this platform's movement by either allowing it to glide or requiring it to remain still creates an experience of engagement and stability that is truly unique to this apparatus.
  • Correcting movement patterns: the body and spatial awareness that are involved in the Pilates Reformer practice are next level. The coaching to recruit the proper muscles to execute the exercises can help to retrain, strengthen and correct movement patterns.
Why we love it, and who it's for...

KEY BENEFITS:

  • Low-impact, High Reward: The controlled movements are gentle on joints, making it a suitable option for general fitness and a wonderful option for rehabilitation. Perfect for longevity.
  • Adaptable: Modifications and options allow for this practice to be adaptable for all fitness levels.
  • Strength, Sculpt and Stretch: The exercises help to move, lengthen and strengthen different types of tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia), developing long lean balanced strength, and leading to improved flexibility.
  • Increases mobility and range of motion: Students are guided through exercises to move their bodies in an array of specific ways that work with and against resistance, allowing for improved mobility and increased range of motion.
  • Enhances posture and alignment: Targeting the deep stabilizing muscles that help to support and maintain alignment and muscle balance, this helps to correct and enhance posture.
  • Boosts the mind-body connection: intentional movement that helps to increase the awareness of which muscles are being engaged, and of which body parts are moving them, leading to better control, and coordination, while correcting possible imbalances.
  • The subtler aspects of this practice: Breath-led, precise movements promote a calm headspace.

WHY IT WORKS:

  • Clean, elongated strength
  • Better posture and alignment
  • More mobility with less strain
  • Core power that supports your everyday life
  • Low-impact training that’s challenging without being punishing
  • A calm headspace built through breath and precision

WHO IT'S FOR:

Pilates Reformer adapts to you!

  • Beginners and experienced practitioners: The adjustable resistance and exercise modifications and options makes it suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
  • Individuals seeking general fitness: It provides an effective and challenging full-body workout.
